Re-Opening of the hiking-trail to Monserrate

After some months under repair because of landslides, the footpath to Monserrate reopened a few days ago restoring access to the Monserrate church for Colombians and foreign visitors. The three-kilometer hike, from 2600 meters above sea level to the church of Monserrate at 3152 meters offers tremendous views of the city and Bogotá's Eastern Hills. 

The walk takes about one hour. For our athletic tourists it is definitely an interesting alternativ to get to the top of Monserrate. You are also able to take the cable car for one way and for the other way the walking path.
